Title: Xbox Live no workie
Post by: genius4u on August 22, 2011, 04:40:14 PM
OK, I'm network savvy and no the DGL4500 GUI pretty well now.  I've also searched the forums and found numerous threads and still can't get the Xbox Live to work...

To put it another way, I paid $189 for a Gamer Lounge Router and it can't connect my Xbox 360 to Xbox Live... which is a game system... to a gaming network... for the purpose of gaming... and we little people of this forum, while tossing outsome ideas here and tere, just accept it and talk about other things... am I missing something here?

I've got the SPI completely disabled, anti spoof turned off and rule added, yet no dice... really?  I am so frustrated:S. Anyone else have any ideas?  My next post is going to be a video of me smashing this thing to pieces:(

Review the Gaming and gamefuel sticky for XBL and see if that helps. Let us know if you need more help. Can use Teamviewer.com to remote in and help you configure the router.

Genius, take up Furry on his TeamViewer offer.  He knows this router like the back of his Furry palmed hand.    :o

Seriously, he's helped me out twice for mine.

I bet if I queried the HW ID, it wouldn't show up as a 4500 SIR!

Sorry it took so long to get back, I was moving to our new assignment in AK and had a lot of stuff to do.  So I tossed the Xbox to the side and didn't see the replies getting into my spam box.  OK--I'm pretty certain I loosened up the router as far as it'll go without much success.  But I will entertain the stickie and give it another shot.

Since Alaskan gun laws are so easy going, I decided to take up a new hobby and bought me a Beretta .40... if this doesn't work, I'm going to take that router to the range, pump it full of quarters, ship it back to D-link and tell them to stick it up their a$$!

Yeah man the DGL-4500 is the bee's knees!!!
XBL has never worked better and let me repeat never better before this router.  It works!!!!

Something is up with your set up or maybe you just got a bad router.

Heya Fuzz. Would you have time to check my settings to see if i have this setup for xbox correctly? I am a bit savvy with routers but it is understandable that you are a GOD.

Hmmm this is the first i have heard of team viewer. Do I need to setup an account and does it cost anything? Sorry haven't even looked at it yet. We could use webex. I do have an account there.

teamviewer.com is free and you don't need to set up any account. You can download the installer and you have the choice to install the program fully or Run it in stand alone mode. I don't have webex.

Well I have just had the honor of having Furry Looks at my settings and just about change all of them lol!! He was very very quick, and explained things as he went on important items. It's nice to see that there are still people out there like me that don't mind lending a helping hand or expect anything in return. KOODO'S goes out to you FURRYNUTZ. Keep up the good work. Ya know D-Link should give you a home based support job(If you do not work for them already). Probably put all thier other support engineers to shame. It would be a HUGE benefit to D-Link to have you on the support team. I'm good, but you are at a level that I long to be at.

Keep up the good work,

Oh I think this is my new home. Anyone have any insight to the SB6121? It will be coming in today and just want peoples take on this unit. Upgrading from a SB5100, do you think I will see an improvement?
