Title: Firefox tosses these occasionally (and is unresponsive until it does)
Post by: acellier on September 07, 2011, 02:44:51 PM
I'm on MacOS 10.6.8 with Firefox 6.0.2 – Firefox tosses up occasion Java login windows, depending on which pane of the D-Link supervisory browser pages I might click. Even worse, Firefox is unresponsive until the password window comes up, sometimes many minutes.
Very frustrating, as sometimes I've tire of waiting for the camera to respond and I'm off in another tab trying to do something.
Another thing – if I have a (not necessarily frontmost) Firefox tab displaying mjpeg.cgi or video.cgi or any of the other live views, Firefox randomly throws out a request to save a file of that name, e.g. mjpeg.cgi - these files appear useless, as they are not readable by any program I can find. At least this thing does not freeze Firefox.
Both of these issues happen with DCS-930L and also with DCS-932L.
Have not yet gotten as much experience with other browsers, but I haven't had so much trouble in Safari, Chrome, or Stainless.

In good-old Firefox 3.6.21, the browser seems to remember the first java log-in, and does not keep asking for user and password every time I click something (not yet thoroughly tried), and so stays responsive to other tasks. The first issue seems to have come with FF 5, I think.

The SECOND message still pops up; but it becomes :
Downloading /Users/Xxxxx/Downloads/UgVM5h9U.part
/Users/Xxxxx/Downloads/UVM5h9U.part could not be saved, because you cannot change the contents of that folder.
Change the folder properties and try again, or try saving in a different location.    (  OK )

Pretty hysterical.

Unfortunately, unless Firefox has an outstanding bug that will be addressed in a future release, it looks like the DCS-93X firmware will require an update to correct this issue.

[Deja vu. . . Did I see this same thread elsewhere? :)]

I find that Safari 5.1 gives exactly the same Java password sign-in box - when it even bothers to work.

Did Safari always have the sign-in box issue or did this start happening the same time as Firefox started acting up? Wonder if there are any shared components (i.e. Java) that are causing this issue.

pretty sure it's the current (latest) Java (on Mac)

If this is in fact the case, then we'll most likely need a firmware update to correct the problem.
