What's a good speed to be getting for gaming on a computer that's set at #1 priority while every other device in the house is set at #255?

I heard that you do not want set any device with a priority of 1, it takes up too much bandwidth. Anyway, what ISP do have and what are your advertised speeds? Need more info please.

i pay for 40Mbps down and 3Mbps up, my network is currently buzzing with activity and i tested with Speedtest.net

my network is fairly large. 7 clients.
also, using the QoS to set one client as priority 1 does create some latency issues for the rest, but it allows whoever is set to 1 to breath easily online.
another way to increase throughput to your computer would be to set the DMZ to it, this tells the router not to scan the packets to that PC, i do recommend though you have a damn good Firewall set up on your PC since the router will not firewall any incoming packets to that PC.
