Title: NEW DOCSIS 3.0 MODEM THE DCM-301
Post by: Kamikazi2142 on September 30, 2011, 03:12:06 PM: wow this sure is just what i been waiting for, a complete DLink home network, with DOCSIS 3.0!!!!!!

i done some lookin around, google searching here and there, only reason i happened to stumble across this is because my curiosity was sparked supremely when viewing a post HERE (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=41248.0) where the OP posts a list of accepted Devices by Comcast (http://mydeviceinfo.comcast.net/) and #31 in that list is this device (http://mydeviceinfo.comcast.net/device.php?tier=-1&devid=308&e=0&d3=0&s=&so=&sc=900)!!

i immediately went on a tweaker hunt for more to calm my craving of this device!!
came across this tasty tid bit (http://www.dlink.com/press/?prid=651) of information, which links out to the specifications PDF manual (http://www.dlink.com/serviceprovider/PDFs/DCM-301_ds.pdf) to it!! :D

now the only thing missing in my DLink Addiction is a release date, which atm seems like this is all the information i can get from DLink themselves. :'(

no one knows how happy i would truly be upon buying this modem :D

i hope this information helps out those who missed this device in that device list in the other thread, and those who did notice and didn't seem all that impressed, :o what are you hiding!?!?

so basically, i posted this here, cuz the idea of a fast modem, and the DGL-4500 in tandem is the greatest thing to happen to gamers, and maybe they could make a D-Link GamerLounge edition ??? :D

Post by: Hard Harry on September 30, 2011, 10:35:46 PM: Never been a fan of modem/router combos, mostly because your never in control of the firmware. But I too am curious about this device. Always wondered why someone didn't physically combine the two devices, but with different memory and gateways. Anyway, thanks for the links!

Post by: Kamikazi2142 on October 01, 2011, 01:30:51 PM: i wasn't implying a modem/router combo by my remark of a DLink GamerLounge edition of the modem... i was just saying, like the Xtreme N Router was turned into a GamerLounge edition with the new name of Xtreme N Gaming Router... same router, just a butt load more features.

therefore, i'd like to see DCM-301 version with GamerLounge, with the GameFuel and all that fun stuff
