and yes i have teamviewer if need to be.

What wifi modes are you using? Try Single mode G or Mixed G and N on 2.4Ghz?
What FW version is currently loaded on this unit?
-
maximum wireless clients to be connected at a time since the new FW releases is 3. when using WiFi at all the maximum clients is 4
disable the wifi on the router, and buy another router set it up as an AP and you should be golden.
-
Let see how many devices he's got first
-
i know i got more then six wireless devices connected ! 3 androids , 3 laptops and a xbox 360

What HW version is your router?
What FW version is currently loaded?
What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP Modem do you have? Stand Alone or built in router?
What ISP Modem make and model do you have?
If this modem has a built in router, it's best to bridge the modem. Having 2 routers on the same line can cause connection problems.
A few things to try:
Ensure DNS IP addresses are being filled in under Setup/Internet/Manual?
Turn off QoS (DIR) GameFuel (DGL) options.
Turn off Advanced DNS Services if you have this option under Setup/Internet/Manual.
Turn on DNS Relay under Setup/Networking.
Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices on the router.
Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.
Set Firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP.
What wireless modes are you using?
Try single mode G or mixed G and N?
What security mode are you using? WEP, WPA or WPA2? Preferred is WPA-Personal. WPA2/Auto TPIK and AES.
Any cordless house phones?
Any other WiFi routers in the area?
Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing.
Turn off all devices accept for one wired PC while testing.

Where do you turn off QoS options?
-
QOS is "Wish"
-
QoS is Gamefule on DGL. WISH Is entirely different.
I modified the post. Sorry. ::)
-
Actually gamefuel prioritizes traffic via IP address only, which is also QoS, but WISH is a closer match. WISH prioritizes traffic via what type of traffic is being passed (Video, voice, Best Effort, etc). For me, I make sure my video traffic has the highest priority since I want to stream video from my NAS to my 360.
Definition of QoS:
QoS (Quality of Service) refers to a broad collection of networking technologies and techniques. The goal of QoS is to provide guarantees on the ability of a network to deliver predictable results.
EDIT: gamefuel prioritizes certain applications, whereas WISH priortizes traffic on different applications automatically.
-
And it's for wireless connections isn't it?
-
Yes, WISH is for wireless. gamefuel can be both.
You asked the OP to disable QoS, which means BOTH should be disabled, correct? Afterall the OP is pointing to "Wireless hangs", which means WISH should only be disabled (Logically speaking).
-
Acutally I QOS is for DIR routers. I should have originally put in Gamefuel however GF is not enabled by default. Turning it off is for troubleshooting purposes if needed. I should have specified that more.
-
D-Link didn't make it really clear regarding both as a form of QoS. :-\
They should have stuck with one or the other with both wireless and wired. :( Both WISH and gamefuel has the option to automatically classify the traffic. To me, it's a waste of memory.
.Just my $0.02 worth.
EDIT: Why do you put DIR troubleshooting steps? Isn't this the DGL forum? It seems the OP went from a DIR to the DGL.
-
I post QOS along with gamefuel as it's about the same thing. I mentioned QOS and forgot to take it out for this OP.
I have everyone come to this forum for some of the XBL and PSN stuff as the data contained in the stickys pertains to both DIR and DGL types. These routers are basically the same thing..just the UI is different mostly.

Ahh, I'm following you. ;) You just copy/paste. I can relate. "Canned messages" are quick and help with time. I'm guilty of that. ;D
-
Ya, I've learned from working in this field for years and experiences on this forum that getting some information and posting some simple things to try out helps and starts the trouble shooting efforts. Most users come here with about the same problems so I've come up with simple questions to address some of this. The more info we can get from us users out there, helps us users provide us users with more suggestions and help. (Yes, Java, I meant and said it like that. :P ) These are just some basic questions and suggestions I've compiled over the years. There could be more, maybe less. It's a good place to start.

Well I turned WISH off, I have WII, smart phone and one PC run on wireless. With it turned off mess anything up? Is it better to have it off or on???
-
How do you mean by messed it up?
My experience is to turn it off unless your streaming video and such over wireless.
I have a MacbookPro, 2 iPhones on wireless and never used WISH and all works for me here. Did you have WISH set up? Might need more info here.
-
. . . My experience is to turn it off unless your streaming video and such over wireless. . .
I second that. That's the only reason why I have WISH enabled. When it's disabled for me, my NAS can't stream Blu-Ray quality movies to my XBox effectively. (Nas - wired and supports Jumbo Frames. 360 - Wireless n).

I should have proof read my post before I hit the post button, lol. I mean will my wireless devices have issues connecting with it disabled?
I know the answer now, just clarifying my earlier post.
No I did not have it set up, just enabled.

What are your current wireless settings? I have a pic of what we need
1) Security Mode:

3) Cipher Type:

How about changing to single mode G for a temp test to see if it happens on this mode. Turn off all wireless devies accept for one and do some testing. See if you notice anything. Then turn on the next device and graduate from there.
Are your devices on a reserved IP address?
Might have some one here remote in with teamviewer.com and review your router settings with you.
