Hello everyone!
The problem is: After some while, sometimes only few minutes, sometimes even few hours, almost all websites don't work. For example, skype, google.com work, but nothing else.
We have 4 PC at home and on all of us the same. I have firmaware 4.11, I have also goggled this problem and found that some people have the same problem ,but no one has a resolution for it. Should I get a new router, cause it has defects?
Thank you! :)

What HW version is your router?
What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP Modem do you have? Stand Alone or built in router?
What ISP Modem make and model do you have?
If this modem has a built in router, it's best to bridge the modem. Having 2 routers on the same line can cause connection problems.
Ensure DNS IP addresses are being filled in under Setup/Internet/Manual? You can find these under Status/Device Info/Wan section.
Turn off ALL QoS (DIR only) GameFuel (DGL only and if ON.) options.
Turn off Advanced DNS Services if you have this option under Setup/Internet/Manual.
Turn on DNS Relay under Setup/Networking.
Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices on the router.
Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.
Set Firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP.
What wireless modes are you using?
Try single mode G or mixed G and N?
What security mode are you using? WEP, WPA or WPA2? Preferred is WPA-Personal. WPA2/Auto TPIK and AES.
What wireless devices do you have connected?
Any cordless house phones?
Any other WiFi routers in the area?
Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing.
Turn off all devices accept for one wired PC while testing.

HW Version: E4
I have optical cable.
I think it is stand alone modem, but I don't know exactly. It is also ONT (Optical Network Terminal).
Modem make is ALCATEL, but I don't know the model, if it is very important I can get taht info.
Ok, I'll try this.
Don't know the mode of my wireless network.
Security mode: WPA-Personal.
At the moment 3 laptops, but sometimes we connect phone and also another laptop.
Yes, I am living in city center, there are many wireless networks. I assume most of them ar from routers.
Another thing, I don't know, maybe it will work now for some hours, I can't be 100% sure it will work:D
If I just turn off/on router OR Setup a new wireless network (even with the same name/password), it works fine for some while.

Try single mode G along with some of the other tips I mentioned.

Tried all of your suggestions. Nothing helped. The only thing taht helped this time was makeing a new wireless network. (This time I even needed to change me SSID name)
If I find out about my ISP modem being a router, how to chnge it to bridge mode? Maybe taht would help.
Thank you for helping me! :)
-
Ya it's always recommended to change the default SSID name from dlink to something new, can be anything and you can make it what you want, make it fun.
You'll need to all up the ISP and ask them for information on how to bridge the ISP modem if it's got a internal router built in and if it can be bridged. It might be support that. If that case might see if the ISP modem as a DMZ, if so, put the 615 routers IP address it gets from the ISP modem in the DMZ.

Sounds like a DNS issue. First make sure advanced DNS is turned off. Second, make sure your wireless is secure. Could just me everyone and their uncle jumping on your wifi and crashing it (hence why creating a new network helps, since it disconnects them?). Last, when you say "almost all <other> websites don't work." what do you mean? What message do you get when you try? And all computers on your network? Have you tried pinging them when it happens?
-
I made secure Wi-Fi already, never been without password, and I have changed password for sevral times. I can see who are connected to my router and it semms taht only me and my friends.
We all have the same problem.
It just says like this: "Server not found" for firefox and other way with other applications. Just like there were no website or internet, but the funniest thing is, that, for example, at the moment yahoo.com, youtube.com etc don't work, but this website works. Yesterday only my local website draugiem.lv worked. It is randomly. When I just make a new wireless, all of them works fine for some while.
I have Advanced turned off.
I have'nt tried pinging them. Could you explain how to ping? You mean in cmd.exe? Just ping ip adress?
Thank you!
-
By the way I have sometimes the same problem as this guy:
I also have 2 routers, and have been seeing the exact same problem. I have tried both default firmware, and have also updated to ddwrt firmware. Neither solution seem to solve the problem.
I"m going to try and do a disabled broadcast on one of my routers and see if i can at least get some systems to maintain connectivity. The problem is I have some android devices that need the ssid to be broadcast.
Refreshing the router or messing with a single entry in the wireless setting cause the ssid to be visible again. but If i let the router set it generally disappears by the next day..
But I have only 1 router. Maybe my modem has a built-in router. I will find out that today.

Hmm, that raises a red flag. You host a website on your network? Tell me more about this?

Yes. First, when your having no issues, do this.
Windows + R > CMD > Ping yahoo.com
Should say "Pinging yahoo.com [IP address] with 32 bytes of data" Write that IP down. Then when your having the problem getting to yahoo(if not yahoo just supliment what ever site your having a problem with):
Windows + R > CMD > Ping yahoo.com
If that does work, reply, if doesn't work, move to net step.
Ping [IP address]
If that does work, reply, if doesn't work, move to next step.
Tracert [IP address]
Should get something like
Tracing route to yahoo.com [72.30.2.43]
over a maximum of 30 hops:
1 1 ms 1 ms 1 ms Removed by edit [x.x.x.x]
2 9 ms 5 ms 5 ms Removed by edit [x.x.x.x]

Trace complete.
In your trace though, you will get * * * at some point. If you do, that will tell us where the connection is dropping.

I will try what Hard Harry said. I will reply later for that solution.
To FurryNutz:

Ok, kewl. Might have someone on here review your router settings using teamviewer.com if your interested.
