My netgear router kept dropping my internet connection so after some research I bought the DIR-655 router. It installed fine. My computer connects to the internet great and so does my xbox. But now my xbox doesn't see my PC so I can not set up a media center connection. I know it isn't a firewall setting or a setting on my computer because it worked fine with my old netgear router and the router I had before that. I even double checked by turning off the firewall. I have version 2.0 firmware and the settings are out of the box. I assume there is something I need to set up to get this to work but I have not been able to find any answers on the internet. Any help would be appreciated. I don't know a lot about networking as I've always used out of the box settings and had success with everything working the way I like.
Thanks

Sorry, but I'm a newb here and with routers in general. I found the Gaming and GameFurl Setup Information - Xbox Live sticky and that looks a little too complicated for me. I don't have any problems accessing XBL. The router won't let my xbox "see" my computer so I can access music, movies & pictures. I can game online fine. Do I need to go through all those settings or is there something specific I need to do or focus on. Also I couldn't find a separate XBL sticky. Maybe I'm in over my head with this router. Any further info you could give me would be appreciated.

Would be willing to work with you using Teamviewer.com and have someone here help you set up the router and review the setting with you if your interested. It's free and safe to use.

No need! I read through your post on gaming and I unchecked Dynamic Fragmentation and it is now working fine! With it checked it worked fine with XBL but unchecking now it can see my computers.
Thanks for your help!

I had the exact same issue.
For me, turning off Dynamic Fragmentation was not enough. I had to select "Enable Multicast Streams". (Advanced > Advanced Network > Enable Multicast Streams) ;D
I am using: Hardware Version: B1 Firmware Version: 2.03NA
Artical from M$ about multicast streaming
