This router has to be rebooted every 12-24hrs to re-establish the internet connection. What is the problem?

What HW version is your router?
What FW version is currently loaded?
What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP Modem do you have? Stand Alone or built in router?
What ISP Modem make and model do you have?
If this modem has a built in router, it's best to bridge the modem. Having 2 routers on the same line can cause connection problems.
Ensure DNS IP addresses are being filled in under Setup/Internet/Manual? You can find these under Status/Device Info/Wan section.
Turn off ALL QoS (DIR only) GameFuel (DGL only and if ON.) options.
Turn off Advanced DNS Services if you have this option under Setup/Internet/Manual.
Turn on DNS Relay under Setup/Networking.
Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices on the router.
Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.
Set Firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP.
What wireless modes are you using?
Try single mode G or mixed G and N?
What security mode are you using? WEP, WPA or WPA2? Preferred is WPA-Personal. WPA2/Auto TPIK and AES.
What wireless devices do you have connected?
Any cordless house phones?
Any other WiFi routers in the area?

Hardware is B1
Firmware is the latest on the website 2.06 NA
ISP Is comcast cable with a cable modem
ISP modem is stand alone
ISP modem is Webstar by scientific atlantic
Setup is that this is the only router in the system. It plugs directly into the modem. A switch plugs into the wireless router for the wired devices.
DNS is filled in
QOS was never enabled
Advanced DNS was never enabled
DNS relay was enabled by defaut
Ip Addys reserved
Devices are set up that way
Firewall settings changed
Using G for one side and N for the other. All G devices connect on one side and all N on the other
WPA security with MAC filtering
Iphones, and Itouches as well as 2 laptops.
No cordless phones
No other WiFi.

See how it runs for a while. Look at the logs in the router should you see this happen again during this time frame of the loss of internet. You should be able to log into the routers web page even if you can't get internet.
Iv'e had some experience with Webstar modems before and there not the best. Possible that the router is doing it's job and loosing connection to the internet due to the ISP Modem has lost connection.
Does this happen with wired connections too?

Was not having this problem with the Linksys router that this one replaced (wanted dual channels). I will run it and see what happens. The network is running fine (have not checked the wired connections as they usually do not access the internet) and can still share files, print etc. The icon on the fron of the router is still showing an internet connection is open.
Will this work on the Iphone issues as well?

DO you mean the globe is blue? If the Globe turns amber then it means it's lost connection with the modem.
My 1st gen iphones works on it just fine.
Another thing you can turn off is SHORT GI and WMM under Advanced/Advanced Wireless.
I would test a wired connection to see if it exhibits the same issue.

Yes it shows the global as blue. I had to restart the router this morning as it had lost the internet connection. I tried the wired connection and it was dead on both sides, but the network (device to device) was intact, just the connection to the internet was dead.
The issue with the Iphones is fixed though.

What the globe still blue or amber before you reset the router?
One thing if you can check for next time, before you reset the router, log into the routers web page and go to the Status/Device Info/Wan section, does it say "Disconnected" in the WAN IP address section?
This might indicate that it's lost it's link with the ISP modem and we need to look at the cable between them and the ISP modem itself.
What is the Make and model of the ISP modem?
Might also see if you can check the logs on the ISP modems side as well. Sometimes they have logs too.
Also make sure the cables between router and modem are good, sometimes the IN BOX cables are made cheaply. I recommend CAT6. Also make sure that your ISP cable coming into the building is in good condition as well. Remove TV line splitters if you have more than one. The more splitters that is on the line will reduce the signal going into the ISP modem. I would also call the ISP and have them check the line levels and see if they have seen any recent disconnections or issues on there logss.
One thing you can also try, find out what the highest connection speed of the ISP modem is, newer ones support Gb connections, set the routers WAN speed from auto to manual 100 or 1000, depending on what ISP modem supports, and see if this helps. I kinda doubt it however worth a try.
I would like to see if a PC directly connected to the ISP modem with out the router experiences any issues.
I would see if you can do the following, maybe something towards the end of the evening before bed, disconnect the router and turn it off. Directly connect one wired PC to the ISP modem. Do some surfing and make sure the PC gets Internet. Leave it over night and come back in the morning and check the status.

It is still loosing its connection. When I try to log onto the router it will not, and after looking closer when this happens it shows that I have connection to the network but not the internet. However I can't access anything on the network, so the whole network is down.

Wonder if someone should use teamviewer.com and review your router settings with you. Are you loosing the connection if you directly connect a PC to the ISP modem?

The router has lost its internet connection and I am posting from being directly plugged into the modem.
The modem has the connection but the router does not, but will once I reboot it.

Let us know if you notice any loss in connection while directly connected to the modem. IF not, lets have someone use Teamviewer.com and check your router settings with you.
