Title: Samsung Laser, can't scan, any help, tips??
Post by: menoprint on October 06, 2011, 01:42:36 PM
I think I just made the mistake of buying the DPR-1260 wireless print server. I have two printers, HP Photosmart on list, and the Samsung CLX-3185 Color Laser printer (not on any list). The Samsung printer is detected and I can print but I cannot use it as a scanner? Any tips? Is DLink adding printers or letting us all just hang. Their list for multifunction is terribly small.

I do like the file "marry" to the printer driver set-up. But we NEED files (Compatibility updates).

Any advanced settings to get to work?

Any update on this?

Just bought the Samsung CLX 3185 multi-function printer and connected to a D-Link DPR-1040 USB Multifunction Wireless Print Server ... getting the same results - can print etc but cannot scan  :-\

Anyone know of a work-around or fix?

Have you tried accessing your DPR-1260 home page - your IP address may vary - and choosing the SCAN option?

My DPR will scan from my printer AND will open Adobe Acrobat Pro on my Windows 7 laptop!  Its actually more reliable than adobe function.

Of course, windows 7 map network will find it, but cannot place it on the map.  If I choose the wifi network on network and sharing center, it will show the DPR as a printer!  Double click on it, and it opens its home page.

However, the printer (attached to the DPR) shown in printers and devices cannot find the DPR -- augghhh.
