Hi everyone. Im having an issue with the p2p downloader on my dlink. The speed is constantly below what it should be. I should get around around 300KBs but am not getting half that. I have tested the torrent on my pc and they achieve the speed easy. One other issue is the status on the torrents often get the symbol of a circle in blue with white in the 12 - 4 positions. Any help would be great. Thanks

I posted on the same issue some days ago: P2P dimming out.
I just restarted the DNS and things went better. Never tried to compare performances with a different torrent client on the same network: could be depressive :-\
Not enthusiastic about present torrent client

Have you configured "port forwarding" on your routers?
I have latest beta firmware and have no trouble with speed and didn't have with any previous firmware either
-
You are right! I have only ports 21 and 80 forwarded.
Which one for P2P? Any among 10000 and 65000?
I think speed could be significantly improved ;) let's try!
-
That's it! Forwarding port 6881 gave immediate effect and significant improvement.
Thanks!

Just reporting back, I have ports 6881 and 24939 forwarded to the NAS. I have 24939 because I selected the port manually. Have set it back to automatic again and not much difference. Im getting full speed using the http downloader. Must either be the torrents or something else possibly?

Testing with a torrent that has 4987 seeds and 305 leaches. Speed is hovering around 20KBs

Hi
Re-check port forwarding is the correct port (listed in the NAS on p2p settings) and also that the correct IP address is used.
Try a few torrents from different sites, both private torrent sites and public

Double checking now,
On the NAS, all the network settings are set to manual and I entered them myself. I have switched it back to automatic. On the router the mac address matches and its static ip is what it should be. Ports 6881 and 24939 are being forwarded using both udp and tcp.
I can try add the nas to my dmz for a while although im not mad on the idea if anyone this that might help?

Hi,
I am facing a similar problem. The p2p is very slow, less than 60 kbps ??? . In contrast, If I use my PC, it can be around 500 kbps.
I have tried to do port forwarding in my router, move the NAS into DMZ area. Disable FTP, UPnP, AFS, NFS.
... and it ends up nothing. The p2p, utorrent download is still very slow.
Any idea ??
Thanks.
