Title: Fan wouldn't stop
Post by: domovoy on October 09, 2011, 03:36:56 PM
I have a problem with my DNS-320. The fan goes on high speed and wouldn't go low at all even when temperature is low. I checked both harddrive and internal temperatures. When I update Power settings to set Off/Low/High for fan it slows down to low speed. Did anyone see something like this?

What firmware version is your DNS-320 running? Beta firmware version Firmware v2.02b01 addresses the non-stop fan issue.

Hi,
Even though my unit also showed it was set to "auto-off, low, high", it stayed on high.  Try going down and re-saving the settings.  This worked for me.  Good luck.

I use 2.0 firmware. I saw beta firmware but I'd rather wait for released version.
Thanks.

Even on firmware 2.0 the fan shouldn't stayed on high speed all the time. If you upgraded the firmware to 2.0, it best to do a reset to factory default.
