Title: Scheduling access to specific websites
Post by: david_uk on February 07, 2009, 08:04:50 AM
Hi, just got the router today, and embarking on a steep learning curve. So several questions coming up I guess, but one at a time!

I want to schedule a specific website my son plays on to be blocked apart from scheduled access times. So far I've been playing around with scheduling and blocking websites. Firstly, blocking a wesbite doesn't seem to work. Go into menu 40 (website filtering rules) add the domain such as domain.com select the deny access option and save settings. I can the merrily access that site even after rebooting the computer. Any ideas why this doesn't block the site?

Also, I can make up a schedule for blocking access, but cant seem to associate it with a filter to block a website.

I guess it's something simple, but the instructions sure don't make it easy :(

So what I need is simple instructions to set up a schedule to allow access to the specific website between set hours. I know I'll have to make up separate schedules for morning, eveings and weeksnds but as long as I can get to grips with the process I'll be fine.

TIA for the help

Not to worry - most (but not all) of my problems solved.

Hi David,

I am having the same problem with my new DIR-615 router...trying to use website filter and it doesn't work.

How did you resolve?

Thanks...

I am interested in how you resolved this also. I have the same issue with ver c1, f/w 3.10.
