Since the 1.06 firmware the BT client on my DNS-323 is not working anymore. Admin page is accessible, torrent files can be added but the client doesn't see any peers and up/down is zero. I've deleted the dirs /mnt/HD_a2/Nas_Prog and /mnt/HD_a2/BT and reinstalled the client with Easy Search 4.4.0.0. But no succes.
Other clients on my network are working: for example transmission on my macbook. Uses the same router/gateway as my nas. I've triple checked that port forwarding is correct.
Then I checked the general network status of the DNS-323. Here is some of what I've found:
root@nas:~# cat /etc/resolv.conf
root@nas:~# ping www.google.com
ping: bad address 'www.google.com'
root@nas:~# nslookup www.google.com
Server: 0.0.0.0
Address 1: 0.0.0.0
nslookup: can't resolve 'www.google.com'
It seems that my DNS-323 has a serious DNS problem. Anybody with 1.06 who has the same problems? Obviously I have fun_plug installed (0.5).

Check you LAN settings - do you have any name servers configured?
When I look at resolv.conf, it shows the name servers I have configured, and I have no problems with DNS resolution.

Found it. I had my nas configured with a static ip address. I filled in ip address, netmask and gateway. I did not fill in dns and expected my gateway to take care of that. This worked with firmware 1.05. Seems that 1.06 doesn't accept these setting. I tried to fill in the dns fields but it doesn't stick, they're blank after I press save.
So now I have the nas configured as dhcp cleint. I let my router take care of assigning a static ip adress. And now the nas can find the nameservers. And BT works.

Try resetting to the defaults and then setting it up again. I've always used a static ip address on my DNS-323 (in fact, I insist that any server on my network have a static address) and I've never had problems entering DNS settings, with any of the firmware versions.
