Title: Active TV Not very active on DSM520
Post by: tshaff09 on February 08, 2009, 04:51:22 PM
I have installed on my computer the most recent ActiveTV. I can get to menu choices thru the DSM 520, but cannot actually play any online videos. Example - You tube - All videos I've tried are "unplayable". Hulu plays the intro ad then noithing. Aol Video just clocks when selected. I can play Hulu and Youtube OK thru Active TV on my computer. .... What's wrong and how do I make work?

See this message.

In a nutshell, all of these web streamers change the way they distribute their videos which will break Active TV.  YouTube was the only one I was able to figure out how to get working again.

Hulu and AOL have been 'broken' for awhile.

Yeah...Playon and Active TV can't be on the same computer.  Playon will uninstall it.  But YouTube is on Playon so that might be OK.

Too bad playon is only a free trial.

I remember when they had Hulu beta on Active TV.  That was the cheese!  Worked great until last October.
