Title: BSOD with DWA-140 and Windows XP SP3
Post by: LocutusX on February 08, 2009, 07:02:16 PM
Yeah, it had to happen didn't it. All sorts of people were advising me NOT to get a USB WLAN adapter and I just had to go and get one...

So basically, after 2 full days of ownership, the DWA-140 has caused a grand total of 4 BSOD's. I should note that my computer has not had a BSOD in recent memory (so at least 6 months; my "Minidump" folder was empty before yesterday) and the DWA-140 is my first hardware change in a couple of months too.

OS: Windows XP SP3
CPU: Athlon 64 3000+
Mobo: something based on NForce3-250Gb

I am using the most recent RALink driver for the DWA-140, obtainable from the RALink web site. Installed it as "driver only", without the RALink UI, and using WZC to manage it.

I was considering installing the DLink driver - maybe I should go and try that now?
