Title: Adding a already formatted disk without losing data
Post by: beavisjohn on October 20, 2011, 01:36:23 AM
Hello,

I have read all the posts, the manual and even played with the emulator (a bit). It is not clear to me if I can add a already formatted disk without losing data ? Disk has been preformatted using ext3 filesystem.

Thank you for your help.

My understanding of that post is, that as long as HDD is formatted as Ext2/3, the NAS will keep it intact, unless you specifically reformat it:

Was this disk formatted on your DNS-325 or a PC?
