Hello I have upgraded the firmware to beta 1.09.0512.2011 and placed two western digital 3tb drives into the nas, then using the program on the cd I formatted the drives using raid1.
All showed up correct and in the nas interface all shows up correct but when I mapped the volume in windows 7 it shows up as 699gig drive ?
Any help would be greatly appriciated.

If you made fresh reformat after installing 3TB WD drives and Win7 still reports them as 699GB drive (has been complained here also earlier (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=40984.0)), then my advice at the moment would be:
a) try the 1.02b03(1.13.0905.2011) FW - I know, D-Link has removed it from distribution. You can PM me, i still have it somewhere.
b) to try some other protocol than SMB/CIFS. For Windows, your options could be NFS and FTP.
I personally use similar setup (1.02b03(1.13.0905.2011) FW and 2x3TB WD in RAID1), but I connect using Mac and AFP protocol, the NAS reports itself as 2,95 TB drive.

Do you have a DNS-323? The firmware version 1.09x you mention seems to relate to the DNS-323.

I may have looked at the wrong box as I do have a 323 as well sorry bout that , what I have is the current beta firmware that is on the dlink server.

The latest beta firmware is v3.10x located here: ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Multimedia/dns323/Beta/Firmware/

Thanks but I need the firmware for the 325 not the 323

The latest available beta firmware for the DNS-325 is located here: ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Multimedia/dns325/Beta/Firmware/
D-Link also released an even more recent beta firmware, but subsequently removed it from circulation due to technical reasons. We'll have to wait for a re-release of that latest beta firmware, which I believe addresses 3TB HDDs.

Thanks priitv8 for the firmware it might be not upto dlinks specs but it sure is mine - worked like a charm as soon as I updated the firmware I looked at my mapped drive and it showed 2.7 is gig free
Thanks again

I strongly discourage users from upgrading firmware not sanctioned by D-Link. The beta firmware was intentionally removed from distribution by D-Link. Please wait for an official re-release prior to performing any updates.

Normally I'd agree but since that firmware doesn't work and this one does here is no debate here I need windows to see 3tb not .6tb simple as that.
