Title: Weird P2P Problem
Post by: georgechr on November 11, 2011, 09:47:32 AM
Hello

I am having a really frustrating problem with my NAS and P2P. Something seems to be wrong with the paths. I have reset the NAS and run the setup wizard again and reformatted the drives.

Under my computer i see two volumes; Volume_1 (W:) and Volume_2 (Z:).

Now if i open Volume_1 i don't see any folders inside.

Now when i click on the Network icon on the left i see the following

- lp
- p2p (\\Dns-325\p2p)
- Volume_1 (\\DNS-325\Volume_1)
- Volume_2 (\\DNS-325\Volume_2)

Under Network Shares there are the following:

- P2P - Volume_1/P2P
- Volume_1 - Volume_1
- Volume_2 - Volume_2

I tried deleting the P2P but i cant and also nothing happens when i press on "Reset Network Shares".

Also under P2P Downloads settings, the Torrent save path is set as Volume_1.

If i remember correctly from my first setup, the folder P2P was under Volume_1 and not a separate network share. I just want to put the P2P folder back under Volume_1.

Also when i try to cut/paste a file from p2p share to volume_1 share it takes forever to copy where if it was on Volume_1 it would be instant.

I am running firmware 1.02

Thank you in advance.

I am experiencing the same thing.
Also, I cannot add the P@P folder to the UpnP so I could watch movies from there directly, instead I have to copy all the movies from the P2P folder into another folder that I can add to UpnP.

Is there any way to add the P2P folder to UpnP?

Thanks.

I think you might add the top-level share (e.g. Volume_1) to UPnP, but this will prevent adding any nested folders to UPnP, so you will have to traverse the file hierarcy on your TV/DLNA client, which is more cumbersone and also difficult when you add new media and have to "refresh" the Media Server.

But please verify this on your setup, I might falsely remember that this setup worked initially for me (since then I only have some nested folders added to UPnP, e.g. Volume_1\Movies, and also updated firmware to 1.02, which caused some changes to this "magical" P2P share).
