Title: Blah another MW3 question >_>
Post by: begaro on November 12, 2011, 10:45:56 PM
Ok, so I hate to do this to you guys after reading the other threads, but playing on PC and its set to strict for me, HOWEVER the girl has it on 360 and the **** is open for her. I know both of my 360s can be on at the same time and neither one will be set to strict.  Question is how the hell do I configure it so my pc is Open.  I've been foolng around with this for like 2 hrs now and getting no where.  Tried opening the ports for my pc, failed, enabled dmz for my pc, still strict.  Any ideas wtf is going on?

Thanks in advance guys

*edit* 655B1 firm2.0 btw if that helps.

1. Turn on PC and get it online. Don't start game yet.

2. Open up a browser on your PC and go to 192.168.0.1. Either use the PW you set, or User: admin PW: <blank>

3. Setup > Network Settings > ADD DHCP RESERVATION

4. Click enable, choose your PC from the drop down menu, click save.Save settings and reboot if required. (If your unsure which PC is yours Windows+R > CMD > Ipconfig)

5. Fallow these instructions (http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Dlink/DIR-655v2/Call_of_Duty_-_Modern_Warfare_3.htm).  Leave port 3074 out for now, since that is being used by your 360's

6. Make sure you have any Antivirus turned off and your PC's firewall turned off for your testing.

7. Start game and get to where it shows you your NAT. If open, great if not, next step.

8. Run this test. (http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/) and scan for 27014.

We will go from there.

Already have those ports open and what not, and the test says the port is closed. Even after making sure they are opened on the router, bleh. WTF :(  And thanks for helping btw :)

If your on XBL, follow the game and gamefuel sticky in the DGL-4500 forum. This will clear up your issues. I have 2 boxes now and work well on MW3.

Might have someone use teamviewer.com (http://teamviewer.com) and review your router settings with you.

Ok, next step is to bypass router and go direct to modem.

Also, what is your modem's model number and who is your ISP?

Can't bypass the router at the moment with this PC, its in another room.  SBCGlobal DSL and a Speedstream4100 and now my wired comp has lost the ability to load webpages rofl.  Sonuvabish!  And no my xbox works fine its my pc version of MW3 that is strict.

Thanks again guys.

I would try to set up QoS for both your xbox and PC or just the PC for now and test.. You could use the same rules as xbox. Just not sure if it would work if you were gaming at the same time with the PC and xbox.
Make we can help by reviewing your router settings with you using teamviewer. (http://www.teamviewer.com)

You put your PC in a DMZ? ::cringe:: Be careful with that. But I guess its no more risky then having your modem connected directly to the PC so...yea. Just make sure you have some kind of firewall on your computer.

And according to to the Modems datasheet (http://www.calweb.com/dsl/SpeedStream_4100.pdf), it looks to have NAT, so that was probably your problem. If you found a way around it though that works for you, all is good.
