Title: Access to Router
Post by: diamondone1999 on November 14, 2011, 03:26:56 PM
I cannot access my router thru IP address or dlinkap.  I am trying to connect a bridge for the living room in my house.

When I do an IPCONFIG my default gateway as weird characters in front of the actual IP  fb23:ff23 etc.

Sounds like IPv6. Try disabling it in your IP stack and see what you get.

In windows it's under the network properties for the NIC you are using. If you go in the properties for the NIC, you'll see several check mark boxes, one of them is IPv6, uncheck it and apply the change. On the router just set IPv6 for Local-Link.

Yea, the thing it it will recheck once rebooted. Eitherway, as long as you have IPv4 in  that same area Furry mentioned, you should be fine. The problem is when you ONLY have IPv6

Another way around it may be to put in the router's domain. Try http://dlinkrouter (http://dlinkrouter)
