Title: Which driver to use for DWA 652 in Windows 2K Pro
Post by: frtools on August 31, 2007, 10:12:53 AM
I have a DWA-556 communicating with a DIR-655 router and would like to maximize the range. In addition, I want to create a mobile computer on a cart with a mast at the top to mount the antenna on so I need to some cable extenders (I need to raise them to a height of 12 feet to get full line of sight). My questions are:

1) Are wireless-G booster antennae compatible with the wireless-N routers and adapters?
2) Are antenna extension cables for wireless-G compatible with wireless-N

We do have an antenna but I don't believe that there is a 12 foot cable for it.
ANT24-0230.

That might do the trick for you.

The ANT24-0230 is my Friend.  it brought my signal from "Very low" to "excellent" in Windoz.
you get about 4-5 feet of with it.  If you were to go 12 Feet You would need an amplifier, longer cables, and a calculator.

Word to the Wise
Connect the ANT24-0230 to the 652 not the 655.
Connecting the ANT24 to the 655 really did nothing special.
