Im having an issue with my dir825.every couple of days the activity light goes solid blue and i cant get on the internet or sign into msn. When i check my connections its showing connected but no go.If i unplug and replug the router in it works again..Any ideas what could be wrong i have the newest firmware loaded on it and my net card drivers are up to date
-
i am also experiencing this problem. every few days i have to reboot my router and my connection goes back to normal.
-
Is this with a hard wired or wireless connection?
-
wired
-
when i try logging into the router, it gets stuck on a screen that says something along the lines of "checking network connection, access to this page may interfere with something something"
-
Why type of internet connection do you have and who is you ISP? Also what brand is the modem?
-
i have at&t dsl using a motorola modem. it is not an issue with my ISP. i had a linksys router that worked fine before i switched to this dlink router.
-
Is your modem bridged? and try to lower the MTU to 1492?
-
it is not bridged. i have not tried lowering the mtu to 1492
-
Try lowring the MTU.. also see if adjusting the WAN port speed makes a difference.. If you're still experiencing the same issue, you'll have to bridge your modem.
If you connect your PC directly to your modem what IP address are you pulling when you do an ipconfig from the command prompt?
-
i will have to take a look at modifying these settings when i get home since i'm still in my office.
what speeds should i try adjusting the WAN port speed to? where in the configurations do i set the MTU? i haven't connected to my modem directly in a while. if i recall, when i did, the modem assigned an ip address to me.
-
WAN port speed: ADVANCED > ADVANCED NETWORK section and try 100Mbps
MTU: SETUP > INTERNET > Manual Internet Connection Options
When you get home, connect to the modem, open command prompt, do an ipconfig and show me what your IP address you're getting.
-
sent you a PM with my ip.
-
were you able to try the other settings?
-
yes i have. so far so good. it usually takes a couple days for it to freeze up though. i will let you know
-
it happened again. i forgot to mention that this happens when there isn't any internet activity for several hours. when i tried going to a site like google or msn, it just hangs then goes to the default "page not found" screen on the browser.
this time i tried logging in to the router and it sat on that "checking network connection screen". i let it sit for about 3 minutes and then i got to the login screen. after i finally got to the login screen, everything was working normally.
i never had an issue like this with my old linksys wrt54g router.

any fixes for this? i'm still experiencing this issue
