Title: 2.06NA - DHCP problem
Post by: paradigm on November 21, 2011, 10:37:47 AM
The best I can figure... The router defaults to 192.168.7.1 with the DHCP operating within that .7 subnet.

I've changed the router to 192.168.0.1 and the DHCP range to 192.168.0.10 - 100.

When computers contact the router, it gives them a 192.168.7.x IP address.

Setting static IPs is working as a workaround, however, I can't control my little d-link/cisco VOIP box... I guarantee it's getting a .7.x IP address, hence none of the phones work in my house now.

What do I do?

Seems that your router is getting a private IP address from your ISP Modem.

hat ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP Modem do you have? Stand Alone or built in router?
What ISP Modem make and model do you have?
If this modem has a built in router, it's best to bridge the modem. Having 2 routers on the same line can cause connection problems.
