Title: DGL-4300 blocking outbound traffic to a specific domain?

I am a website admin and log in from home - at home I have a DGL-4300 set up as the router, sharing a connection with a number of computers.  For 4 months I have run this setup without issue.

However, last night at some point my router started blocking connections to one site only - the domain I am the admin of.  I can get anywhere else on the 'net, but all connections to that domain are suddenly stopped.  I called both my hosting company and my ISP, and both agree that the problem seems to be on my end.

If I unplug the router and connect directly with my laptop, I can get to the site.  As soon as I plug the router back in and try to connect, I am blocked. 

I have reset the router, put new DNS servers in, and changed various settings to no avail.  I flashed the router with firmware version 1.9 this afternoon, and it made no difference.  I could connect everywhere else, but not my website.  I can connect through an anonymous proxy, but not directly.

Can someone please help me figure out what the heck is going on?

I have this issue, also.  I have been completely frustrated by my lack of ability to connect to my primary work domain via my PPTP VPN connection.  I have tried everything I can think of.  If I directly connect to modem - I have no issue.  If I connect to my neighbor's wireless network and then connect via PPTP - no problem.  It's only when my DGL-4300 is involved that I have any issue...sigh..... >:(


My next step is to scrap this router and get one from a competitor.  Does anyone have any ideas?!? ???

I have the same problem - intermittent but blocks access attempts to GOOGLE.com about 80% of attempts.  Only GOOGLE domains affected.

Problem existed using firmware v1,7 and continues on v1.9 version.

Very frustrating and have troubleshoot through ISP and through microsoft technical support.  The router was observed intermittently not pinging 4.2.2.2 without error indicating DNS error issues.

Email Technical support suggested testing and setting the WAN MTU packet size in the router.  I looked in the router and mine was set to 1500 probably by some stupid PC TUNEUP program I ran a while back.

I Googled "optimal MTU Settings"  and many entries describing how to use PING testing to find a packet size that works without fragmenting.  Mine was 1472.

Some of those Google articles describe maximum settings for VPN, PPOE, etc. so it's good reading.

My problem was intermittent (couldn't reach GOOGLE.com) but it seems to be working better.  Need to test for a workday to see if it's truly fixed.

It's been several days now and the issues I've had seem to be corrected.

I adjusted the  MTU Packet size to 1472  from 1500 default in the router's WAN settings (Manually set settings).

Problems seen to be gone.  I can get to Google.com on every attempt.
