Title: How to log in to network
Post by: crescere on November 30, 2011, 05:11:09 PM
I don’t have much experience with networks.  I bought the router so I could use the NetTalk telephone.  Now I have a Kindle, and I am trying to get into the wireless network with it.  I don’t know what password I used and I have never had to provide it before.  How do I reset it so I can log in with the Kindle?  Thanks in advance to all who answer.

Yes, I looked at the manual, but that is written for people with advanced knowledge.  I do not even know what I need to read to do what I want to do.

You need to open a browser and go to 192.168.0.1 log in as Admin and PW is blank.
Go to Setup/Wireless/Manual

You need to change the wireless SSID to something you like and identify in a list. You can make it fun.
Then change the Mode from Mixed All to Mixed G and N.
Change the wireless security settings to WPA-Personal then use WPA2 setting and change the Cipher type to Auto TPIK and AES.
At the bottom put in any password that you can remember, right it down if you need to.
Save the settings at the top. The changes will apply.

No go to the devices and check to see if you see the new SSID name you gave in the router. I should be listed there. Select it and it should ask you for a password, enter the password you gave in the router.
