Well The issue I'm currently having is I bought this router Dir-655. An well I get like 40MB download speed and 8MB upload speed when I am connected straight to the Modem. But when I try to use this router with my PC I am only downloading at 240-330KB..... anyone have any idea? Been struggling with this for weeks.

Anyone able to help? I dont understand why I have the most amazing internet speed without a router but soon as plug my router in I have freaking Dial up.

In order to match the speed of your ISP provider, you can try to set the router WAN port speed at the Advanced Network with 10 mbps or 100 mbps or auto 10/100/1000 mbps. You can disable the QoS Engine and set the Manual uplink speed close to your ISP speed.

Also I have hooked up my GF's computer to this router. She is using Vista I'm using Windows 7 my computer is way better then hers hardware wise. We using same internet and she gets like 3-5MB download speed. An I am sitting at 300KB ish

Try turning off QoS and set up SPI settings to Endpoint Independent.
Maybe someone can review your router settings using teamviewer.com if your interested.
-
Make sure the router setting with mixed n/g/b mode and auto 20/40 Mhz for mixed devices and mixed Windows operating systems.

I have been reading your guys forums and I tried doing a ton of the stuff like turning off QoS changing spi to endpoint independent... I think my connection got even slower.. lol doing 140KB now at this point.. I would welcome someone to try to help with teamviewer its just getting worse.. lol

I would recommend using Mixed G and N since B mode isn't used much. Modes should be based on what devices are being used and what they support. If devices aren't used modes that the router is broadcasting, theres not need to have the router broadcast them.
Send me a PM with the ID and PW. Will have a look.

Where is this Mixed G and N setting at?

Setup/Wireless/Manual

Oh, we are only trying to use the Wired part of the modem we dont use wireless at all.

Do you have ventrillo or Mumble? It just said Autentication Failed on the Team Viewer thing

Furrynutz is the man! He spent like 1 hour of his time helping fix my internet. Turns out my router and modem were amazing and the reason I could not get speeds past 1.6MB download while connected to my router was cause my NIC Driver was bad so he downloaded a new one off of the Intel website for my windows 7 64bit. An now i peaked at like 110MB download an sit around 60MB download speed. If you need help and this guy replies. Do it. He's the real deal.
