Title: DAP-1522 - Android not working
Post by: CanPower on December 04, 2011, 01:32:38 PM
Hi There,

Looking for some help.

I am unable to connect and Android device (HTC Desire, Samsung Nexus S etc) wirelessly to the DAP-1522.

Firmware is V 1.31
Settings for wifi are:

Ap Mode
2.4 GHz
Mixed N&G
Auto Channel enabled
Trans Rate (Best)
Channel Width 20/40
Security WPA
WPA Mode - Auto
cipher TKIP and AES
WPS disabled.

I've search through the forums and can't find anyone else having issues with Android so I think it must be one of my settings.

It works fine if I switch to WEP however I don't want to use the weaker hackable protocol.

Anyone out there have the DAP-1522 in WPA working with an android device?  if so can you provide your settings?

Thanks in advance.

Can you test to see if Android connect if you turn off or disable security as a test. Turn it back on after.

Test with Single mode G as well.

What cipher type does the Android support?

I have great success (and theoretical increased security) with:
Security WPA2 Personal
WPA Mode - WPA2 only
cipher AES

Works better with iP*** devices also.

Once you get it working, you might want to download 'Wifi Analyzer' from Market and check for the BEST channel. In my case, the default was not the best, and from the furthest distance, another channel was getting a stronger signal

Hi,

similar problem here. My Android 4.0.4 won't connect to DAP-1160. According to D-Link that connection is considered "incompatible".

Cheers

Probably a device Mfr issue.
