Hi. I recently updated my firmware to dd-wrt... now I would like to switch back to stock firmware.
I don't like the fact that any change I make basically resets the router. Plus DD-WRT GUI is VERY slow for me (dont know why)
Anyways. I've followed every tutorial on how to do this, but the router will not accept the stock firmware. I've gotten the image to upload (according to the browser), but at 100% the flashing orange light & globe light just continue to blink & do nothing. I never see the other lights "flash" confirming the upgrade has took.
Am I doing something wrong? I've tried w/ IE & Chrome. I've set my IP manually through "Network Connections>Properties>TCP/IPv4" before trying. I get to the emergency firmware page...set it upload Version A1. Sometimes it uploads...but like I said, it never takes.
HELP! :)
(and Thanks)

You'll need to visit the WRT web site as they should have all that information.
-
That's the first place I went.
I don't think it's a problem w/ the firmware as much as I do with the D-Link or user error.
I get to the emergency D-Link firmware page...but it never takes.
The image will upload, but then tries to connect to 192.168.0.1 again but can't. :\

Are you setting a static IP address on your PC under networking for the adapter your using?
Again I would refer you to WRT for additional info and help.
-
Yeah. I've setup a static IP before attempting to flash.
I've posted in the DD-WRT but no one has attempted to help.
I've followed their wiki on flashback instructions but no help.
Tried a couple more times yesterday & no luck. I guess I'm stuck w/ it ? :)

No, you're not stuck with it. I did the same thing and eventually got the stock firmware back on.
Unfortunately, I don't remember the process, but it had something to do with the emergency page.
I think you have to just wait it out, are you waiting long enough for it to do it's thing? It takes about 5 minutes or more IIRC.

Ok. I found out the problem & thought I'd post back..... in case anyone else has the problem.
It was the browser. Both IE9 & Chrome would NOT update it back.
Installed Firefox & it worked fine. ::)

I was having the same problem. Reading this post I downloaded FF9. It didn't work for me. However, I found this link (http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/d-link/dir-600#installing.of.openwrt.for.first.time (http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/d-link/dir-600#installing.of.openwrt.for.first.time)) which says that only two browsers will work: IE6 (good luck finding that), and "Ultra Simple Web Browser 2.0" I downloaded that from Sourceforge (http://sf.net/projects/uswp/ (http://sf.net/projects/uswp/)) and it worked like a charm! Thanks for the hint.

I still have IE6 ;D
