I have been starting to use my wireless settings in my DIR-615 B1 (fw: 2.25) again after replacing the cordless phones to DECT 6.0 models. The reason I turned the wireless off before was the router was "restarting" the power for no reason. Now with a supposed DECT 6.0 "wi-fi" friendly cordless phone system, I thought my wireless network would be stable. What I do not understand is why it restarts as there should not be any interference and the microwave is far from the router.
It is not the router as with the wireless network turned off, the router is constantly reliable.

If you unplug the phones does the behavior continue?

As soon as the wireless network radio is "enabled" the router will work and randomly restart. This happens with / without the DECT 6.0 phones turned on or not. As soon as the wireless network radio is "disabled" the router constantly works (no restarts.)
I have used Netstumbler and "polled" my "area." All known wireless networks appear to be on the G network radio band and I have set my router to channel 11 (not used on the others so far.)

it's picking up interference from something. Whats it next to?

A refrigerator on the other side of the wall (kitchen.) All PCs are on the same side of the router.
What I tend to believe is that somehow the wireless network is receiving a router restart, even without direct access to the configuration pages. Is this possible?
Also, can you answer this: http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=4510.0

It's "not" supposed to be possible. The symptoms sound pretty strange?? I "do" think it's the router??... There is nothing that I know of which can produce a restart except router malfunction.

Additional tests have been done. I have disconnected my PC's Bluetooth and it still restarts when the wireless network is enabled. Now it restarts the router every hour.
Also, I was lead to believe that whenever the router's restarts correctly, the internal log is cleared. However, it has retained the log since Dec. 2008.

I have now come to a theory. My DIR-615 router currently has 3 Ethernet cables connected to it (one network printer and two desktops.) It now seems that the unit will not work correctly when the wireless network is also activated. Therefore it seems that the router is flaking out. I am going to replace it as I do not seem to be able to locate the "bill of sale" so warranty replacement is not possible.

Would a "short" somewhere on the phone line could cause most of my problems, if not all?
