hey,
I want to upgrade my DNS-343 firmware.
What is the last firmware and do you have url to download it ?
For information, I live in France....I don't know if it's important....
Thanks for all
Patrick ;)

The latest firmware posted by D-Link France is located here: ftp://ftp.dlink.fr/DNS/DNS-343/Firmware/ (ftp://ftp.dlink.fr/DNS/DNS-343/Firmware/). However this version appears to be dated. The latest firmware posted in the U.S. is v1.05b01 (posted earlier this summer), and is located here: http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=13099.0 (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=13099.0).

ok thanks, but can I use US firmware, however I'm in France ?
And however it is a beta version ? no problem ?
If I have problem, can I downgrade firmware ?
-
The latest beta firmware improves upon the last official public release, contains additional functionality, and fixes the "fans can't rotate" error. This firmware version appears to be at least as stable as the last official release. If the firmware does not perform as expected, users can downgrade to a prior firmware version.
Unfortunately, I am not in a position to comment on the stability of this firmware on non-U.S. released hardware.

ok.....and what do you think about this url ? 1.04 is a good firmware for french user ?

Your link points to firmware version 1.04, which is the last official release in the U.S. after which beta firmware v1.05b01 was published. If you go to http://tsd.dlink.com.tw/, and navigate to the DNS-343, you will find firmware v1.04 labeled as "ww" (worldwide distribution). The release notes indicate that the firmware is suited to hardware versions A1 and B1. The hardware version is indicated on the serial number on the rear of the DNS-343.
Again, I'm not in a position to recommend firmware for non-U.S. hardware, so you'll have to judge for yourself whether or not to update. Assuming you have an external backup of your data, the risk of updating will be somewhat mitigated.
Please post your decision/results.

I'm glad everything worked out. :)

I should point out the firmware v1.04 contains a bug that causes an erroneous "fan can't rotate" error message in the system logs. This error message will not impact the DNS-343 performance in any way. The error message was fixed in firmware version 1.05b01.
