Title: DNS-320 Slow transfer and ftp questions
Post by: donjuan88 on December 17, 2011, 05:21:58 AM
Hello, everyone! I'm new to this forum and NAS. So far I have managed to setup most of the things (insert HDD, format, configure NAS so I can see it in my network...). Now I have few questions...

1. When I transfer files from my external HDD to NAS I get really slow transfer (under 5mb/s, configuration: NAS is wired to my adsl router via lan, my computer is also wired via lan), but my adsl router only supports 100mb/s transfer (I figured it out, because NAS won't let me choose 1000mb/s). Is this speed normal? Can I do anything to speed it up?

2. FTP - I started ftp, configured it and everything, but... I don't know how to access it (yes, I'm noob, and I know a little about NAS and configuration of networks)... What I need to type: ftp:// ????
And, can someone give me link or brief instructions how to forward port ( I actually know how to do it, but I don't know what should I type...)...

Thanks in advance...

Hi,
I can't offer you much help with the network speed issue, but here are a couple links which would probably help with the FTP setup.  Good luck.
