Title: itunes server - streaming to ipad / iphone
Post by: chamelion on December 17, 2011, 12:40:36 PM
Hey guys,

I'm having a similar issue to others on this board where itunes on my pc will recognise my dns320, but if i click onto it it just gets stuck in a loop and won't play music.

however it also appears my ipad / iphone don't even see the dlink as a shared library. any idea how i could at least get that bit to work? I know the itunes issue is a result of the update where they've blocked somethign or other, but there's no reason ipad/iphones (especially those not yet on ios5) should not see the shared library?

thanks!

That's because it doesn't work, and Dlink will most likely get it to work when there's a manned space station on Mars.
After all, they have your money now, why should they give a rats ?

so basically you have or had a dlink product, and come to these boards just to complain about them?

I have one, oddly enough, A DNS-320, it doesn't work properly.
Neither does Dlink.
Noticed them fixing anything lately ?
Notice them all over the board, helping out, offering advice, fixing issues ?
Have you ?
Tried asking them to fix the issues ?
I have.
Nothing.
Nada.
Zilch.
And for quite some time.
Like I said, they have our money.

i read somewhere its because its not a proper itunes server just some bodged ancient thing (fireplay?)

so it'll never work, you need an itunes server which probably requires more power than our little NASs have

Apple has again changed iTunes design. This will take some time to study how to support the new iTunes implementation to work with the DNS-320. There is plan to support iTunes current version however I do not have any release date information or progress details at this time unfortunately. The best I can recommend is to install iTunes version 10.4 and not to update until a fix has been released.
