Title: Disconnecting Router
Post by: Eddiethm on December 18, 2011, 08:42:46 AM
I have not yet hooked up my router, N150. What I would like that after I hook the router up and then deside I don't want to use it. How do I disconnect it and go back to using my DSL modem and being connected to the internet?
Thank you, Ed

Are you using the DSL modem in bridged mode or normal mode? If it's bridged then you'll need to put back the DSL modem to normal mode if you decided to connect directly to the modem with the PC.

What I would do to hookup the D-link router is to hook it up the way the instructions say. I would hook the d-link router to my DSL modem then to the computer as the instructions state. Then use the disk to set it up.

Now what I would like to know is if I want to disconnect the d-link from my DSL modem and computer would my DSL service go back to the way it was before I installed the router. If not what would I have to do to get my normal service back?

What do you mean by setting to normal or bridge? How would you go about setting these? I know nothing about setting these settings.
Thank you

You'll need to call the ISP for help on the ISP modem.
