What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under router.
What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on routers web page under status.

What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP Modem do you have? Stand Alone or built in router?
What ISP Modem make and model do you have?
If this modem has a built in router, it's best to bridge the modem. Having 2 routers on the same line can cause connection problems.

How are you connecting? Wired or wireless to the router?

I see, does your ISP support the use of a router on there system? Just wondering if there is a configuration problems or something they might need to help out on this.

What region of the world are you in?
Can you log into the routers web page while you have the internet cable connected and check the Status/Device Info/Wan section page and tell me if you see a WAN Ip address there and other addresses. Does the address for the WAN IP start as a 192.168 or a ##.##.###.### address?

You may need a wireless access point (DAP) instead of a router.
