Hi, I just got my DNS-323 today, I'm putting 2 1TB drives in, one to use and one just for backups. I have a few questions that I couldn't seem to find answers for, so hopefully maybe someone can help me.
1. For some reason, when I'd go and map a drive with the easy search feature, when I log off and then restart or log back on the computer, the drive is disconnected and I can't get to it. When I use the LLTD feature in the setup, then I can, but shouldn't I be able to map it without using LLTD? I'm running Vista Home Premium SP1, 32 bit.
2. I don't have my second drive that I want to use for backups yet. Should I wait until I get it before using my first drive, as my first drive might get erased when I install the second one or am I ok?
Thanks
:)

1) The need to "remap" the drive is a function of how you are doing it on the Windows system - somewhere in there is a check box that you need to click on - on an XP system is titled "Reconnect at logon", I couldn't tell you what Vista calls it.
2) Personally I have had no problems with the unit formatting the wrong disk, except when I deliberately provoke such problems, so, it is possible to make it happen, but you can prevent it by simply removing the first disk, installing the second, formatting it and then reinstalling the first.

Yeah, it's the exact same thing on Vista.

Ok, great, thank you. I can go ahead and proceed.
