Since Shareport needs a network to be in place before startup, the delay in getting the network started up may frustrate the Shareport drivers. Hmm. havnt taken a deep look with shareport, but could one not just delay the service from starting in the services management console? Or is it just an application without installing a service?

There's no service description I know of. This is the easiest way.
