Title: DNS-321 - Is there any way to view a deleted folder or directory in EXT2 format?
Post by: dns321nyc on December 29, 2011, 10:39:45 AM
As the title says. An entire folder was deleted and I need to un-delete it.

I have access to many machines as well as RAID recovery software - the raid recovery software properly shows the drives - but the same exact way they show up on the DNS-321.

There is nothing wrong with the device or the drives - the folder was manually deleted.

Thx!

Have access to Linux + Windows machines so any method works. Thx.

If you have not in any way written to the disk after the delete, it may sometimes be possible.
Attach the disk to another box, and try TestDisk: http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk
There are several other tools, e.g., http://www.diskinternals.com/linux-recovery/ but I don't have personal experience with them.
