While I was deployed to Afghanistan, my wife had to reset out DIR-655 router. This ended up changing our network password. Unfortunately, my DAP-1522 was not informed of this change and it will not connect to my Directv receiver now. I attempted to log into the bridge to change the password and it will not let me in. I tried to call DLink tech support (even though I believe my free tech support is up) and it told me that they were busy helping other customers and to try back later-goodbye, click. That was not very nice. I attempted to reset the DAP in hopes that I would just be able to start over from scratch, but no dice (Assuming that I did it correctly). Any suggestions???

Well if the 655 was factory reset, the PW for all routers is blank. I presume doing the same for the DAP is the same? After the factory reset on the DAP it should have to be resetup again with the 655.
Have you tried using teamviewer (http://www.teamviewer.com) between you and your wife to help her set up the router and DAP? it's a free remote control program. I use it alot on here to help people with router settings.

Yes, resetting the DAP-1522 will default to user Admin and no password. Note that the default access IP is 192.168.0.50 once reset to factory defaults.

I've been trying to log into this new "junk" device for an hour. I was so excited to get it only to be disappointed that you can't even get into it. reset...reset button plug in power reset button unplug power etc. etc. 192.168.0.50 nothing..different browsers different computers... it's a brick Never had so much trouble with a device like this before. On sale for $70 whoopee money lost.

I'm sorry you're having so many issues with this. First, make sure the reset worked. Hold the reset down for at least 60 seconds. Let's start there.
Now you'll have to change your network config so you can talk to the router if you're not already on a 192.168.0.xxx net. Just manually configure your IP to 192.168.0.1, leave the mask at 255.255.255.0 and set the gateway to 192.168.0.2 and click OK. Give it 10 seconds or so to set your network.
Now launch the browser and go to 192.168.0.50 and you should connect fine and configure. Again, this assumes the reset went as expected.

With power on and network type switch in AUTO, holding the reset button down with a toothpick for 60+ seconds was the solution for me. I don't know what the admin password was before but now its blank - just like the manual said it should be after a reset. The manual says nothing about how long to hold the reset button down. Thank you!

Thank you for sharing your experiences. Glad it worked out. Default PW for most D-Link products is blank and holding the reset button for 10 seconds should work. I presume most others have found this as well since it's an old post.
Come back if you need more help and information.
Enjoy. ;)

I'm dlad this worked for you but it does not work for me.
that mnual says on page 86 - 10 seconds. why the discrepancy - doesn;t one part of the company communicate with the other part of the company.
I have tried 10 seconds, 60 seconds, 30 seconds, 45 seconds and nothing - no reset. can this be opened up and it there a master reset on the pcb?
so far my experience with this piece of equipment is really bad compared to other dlink products I have - in fact it's horrible.

- What Hardware version is your DAP Look at sticker under the router case.
- Link>What Firmware (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=47512.0) version is currently loaded?
- What region are you located?
What mode are you using the DAP in? AP or Bridge?
Holding the reset button for 5-10 seconds should be long enough, then release. Do you see the LEDS change soon after words?
Not sure if this could help as i've never tried on a DAP before:
