Hello,
I just purchased a DIR-601 router (Hardware Version : B1, Firmware Version : 2.00NA) and had some difficulty setting it up with my cable modem. Finally got it to connect and dish out DHCP, but intermittently drops wireless connections (especially to BlackBerry phones, and occasionally to my laptop). My wifes phone drops, but is usually able to reconnect after the router is hard booted. My phone more often then not cannot even obtain an IP (Both are the same model BlackBerry - Torch 9800).
I'm not sure why it would allow one BlackBerry device to connect but not another.
I'm using the WPA or WPA2 (Auto) encryption with TKIP and AES cipher (default settings), but using my own wireless key.
Not sure if having the modem and router ontop of my TV cabinet (CRT TV in the cabinet about 4 inches below) would have anything to do with the router dropping connections.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, M

Try single mode G or mixed G and N?
Try using TPIK only to test. Heard some issues with some phones and AES.
Let us know.

Interesting. Thanks for the info. I have moved the router and modem off the TV cabinet for now to see if this helps, so far so good. If the problem re-occurs, I will try your suggestions and let you know.
I wouldn't have thought that a CRT TV could cause interference, but who knows.
Thanks and Happy New Year!

Very possible that the older CRT can interfere. Keep us posted. Hope it works better for you. Might find a different placement for the router.

Hello again,
Moving the router to a different place helped a bit, but still had some issues with dropping the BlackBerries.
I reconfiged the router to mixed G and N only and set to WPA with TKIP only, this seems to have cleared up all the rest of the issues.
Thanks for the assistance and Happy New Year all :)
