Hey there,
Today my router and laptop starting acting up... I can't seem to connect my laptop via my wireless router.
Even the name doesn't seem to pop up in the connection window (only after restarting the router, does it work). Other devices see the router without any problems.
I tried adding it manually and it won't connect: Connection could not be established.
I don't think the laptop has any problem since when I connect it to a neighbor's network and if I turn my phone into a hot spot, the laptop can connect without any problem.
I can connect my smartphone to my wireless without any problem. My pc is connected via LAN on the same router and works just fine.
I tried resetting the router, re-install windows on my laptop but nothing changed...
Please help

What wireless modes are you using?
Try single mode G or mixed G and N?
What security mode are you using? Preferred security is WPA-Personal. WPA2/Auto TPIK and AES.
Any other WiFi routers in the area? Use InSSIDer (http://www.metageek.net/) to find out.
Turn off Short GI and Extra Wireless Protection if you have it. Under Advanced/Advanced Wireless.

There are 2 networks available but they have always been there.
I tried all the b,g,n or combined connection modes but nothing worked.
At this very moment I have't set a security mode, I tried living it open thinking it had something to do with that, but before I did have WPA-P just like you said.
I only have Short GI and it's disabled

Is your LT N supporting, if so try single mode N and change the Auto Channel scan to Manual and try channel 1.
-
Hey ;D
Changing to channel 1 worked. Thank you very much.
Just out of curiosity:
1. Why do you think this happened?
2. Will leaving the router set to channel 1 have any influence on it's performance / on future devices connected? More exactly: what does it do?

External interferences from other routers. Happens all the time and were seeing more and more of this problem with high congestion of wifi routers in cities and such.

OK. Thank you again and sorry to have disturbed you.
