Title: DNS-323 and Bittorrent
Post by: Bonebreaker777 on January 07, 2012, 07:25:26 AM
Got troubles with my DNS-323. It is the Bittorrent(v1.01) client installed on it. Got the latest firmware v1.10(for the last 3 months was the same as new new official one, downloaded from the website http://www.station-drivers.com/page/dlink.htm .)
Using my DNS-323 with TP-LINK router TL-WR741N(latest firmware). The problem is that to me for yet not understood reasons the bittorrent client works only if it is listed on the routers [Forwarding] > [UPnP] list. But it turns randomly on and off and I can't enforce it(the circumstances for the successful run are still not understood for me). The DNS-323 got it's IP trough DHCP(or even if it is fixed), and the downloading is being done trough a forwarded port(even if it is done trought the default port number 6881 still nothing).
UPnP Av server : ON
LLTD               : ON
No other add-ons running. No backup or heavy traffic on LAN. Anybody got an idea? Please.

EDIT: The internal LAN parameters are:

Router IP:192.168.1.2

My laptop IP:192.168.1.105
My laptop Gateway:192.168.1.2
My laptop DNS1:192.168.1.2

DNS-323 IP:192.168.1.110
DNS-323 Gateway:192.168.1.2
DNS-323 DNS1:192.168.1.2

Interesting change. Changed the reserved IP address for the DNS-323, changed the port for the downloading on the DNS-323 and forwarded that port in the router and it is working now. Wonder what are the chances that my ISP blocked the last 2 ports. Everything works for now.

UPDATE: Looks like the presence of the DNS-323 on the [Forwarding] > [UPnP] is not necessary after all.
But the ports are being consumed at an alarming rate(ports that are custom entered in the Bittorrent client on the DNS-323 and forwarded trough the router). Yesterday I posted that with a new IP and port number the download is possible. New IP not necessary only port to resume downloading.
