Or, does the data only go over the WAN connection when the camera is accessed via myDlink? I ask because I have this camera installed in my mountain home and the WAN connection is a 5GB/month Verizon USB modem. It seems to be chewing up a LOT of data.
Please advise.

From my understanding, the DCS-930L is always broadcasting it's presence, but only transmits a video/audio stream when satisfying a request from a client PC/device

Thanks. I've read that, too, but I want to make sure that no data (or very little) is going out over my Verizon WAN device unless someone logs into the camera or my DLink. I don't mind if there's a bunch of data going over the WiFi LAN.
