My 655 router (RevB, Firmware 2.03) is connected from one side to a DSL modem and on the side to two wired PC's and via wi-fi to several other wireless clients (two smart phones and two notebooks).
All is well until I try to connect a specific notebook. Connection is estabished for about 30sec and then the router drops ALL connections (including internet and local network!) and I must re-start him by un-plugging from power. This phenomena is specific to a specific notebook since with the other one I don’t have any problems.
Any hint/advice will be welcomed.

Some things to try:
Ensure DNS IP addresses are being filled in under Setup/Internet/Manual? You can find these under Status/Device Info/Wan section.
Turn off ALL QoS (DIR only) GameFuel (DGL only and if ON.) options. Advanced/QoS or Gamefuel.
Turn off Advanced DNS Services if you have this option under Setup/Internet/Manual.
Turn on DNS Relay under Setup/Networking.
Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices on the router. Setup/Networking
Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.
Set Firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP.
What wireless modes are you using?
Try single mode G or mixed G and N?
What security mode are you using? Try WPA and TPIK only, then try WPA2 and TPIK only, then try Auto TPIK and AES. Some devices might not support AES.
What wireless devices do you have connected?
Any cordless house phones?
Any other WiFi routers in the area? Use InSSIDer (http://www.metageek.net/) to find out. Change to a manual channel like 1, 6 or 11 and test.
Turn off Short GI and Extra Wireless Protection if you have it. Under Advanced/Advanced Wireless.

Thanks for the tips. I tried them all but in vain! the router is keep on crashing 30-60sec after establishing wi-fi connection with my notebook.
I do recall that several years ago (I had the DI-614 router) i had similar phenomena that eventually was caused by some virus attack from the notebook which forced the router to shutdown everything. Does the DIR-655 has such a feature? though i did scanned my NB for viruses.

It is not the router problem. Reinstall the specific notebook wifi adapter driver.

hat ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP Modem do you have? Stand Alone or built in router?
What ISP Modem make and model do you have?
If this modem has a built in router, it's best to bridge the modem. Having 2 routers on the same line can cause connection problems.

It is not the router problem. Reinstall the specific notebook wifi adapter driver.
I did. I installed the latest Intel driveres. Still no good.

its DSL and the modem is stand alone one - AZTECH DSL 600E
Though it looks like a router, I asked the ISP provider and he says taht its act like a bridge only.

Try turning off Short GI, WMM Enable and Extra Wireless Protection if you have it. Under Advanced/Advanced Wireless.
What IP address do you see on the router under Setup/Device Info/Wan section? 192.168.0.# or a ##.##.###.### address?
