every time computers that are connected to the same hub as the nas log on, the nas will also turn on! i have checked the startup processes and i dont see any program will access it.
-
Do you have mapped drives on the computers that are drives on the NAS? If so there is your answer.
-
Odd, my drives are mapped but turning the PC on/off doesn't have any affect on the NAS.

Sorry Wiggs, I keep forgetting that not everyone has their computers set up to interrogate everything on the network when they start ;) Ours even check the printers attached to the NAS are switched on and complain if they aren't, they also give a list of all storage found showing total space, used space and free space.

i have mapped drives but i didn't get this problem until i switched to a new hub.

In addition to mapped drives, there are many other things that Windows does that can cause access to the share on startup. "Recent Documents" is one such example.
