So my DNS-323 has two 500GB Seagates currently in a RAID 1, but I'm nearly out of space. After reading that AFT drives were being supported in v1.10 of the firmware I elected to buy two 2TB WDEARX drives to replace the Seagates.
My process for replacing the drives was to remove one 500GB drive and replace it with a 2TB drive hoping that when done, the DNS-323 would synch it up. The problem I'm having is that the 323 does not allow me to reconfigure the new drive to RAID1; the box is simply not able to be checked. Upon going forward, the drive is formatted at JBOD, but only at 1.5TB. Neither of these is really acceptable to me so here I am asking for help/advice.
Thanks,
Mike

You can't increase the size of the raid storage that way. Copy the data off, install and configure the new drives, copy the data back. Or, setup the new drives, put the old one into a USB enclosure on a PC, then copy the data over.

Can you set the format type to standard?
I'm running WDEARS drives, 2TB, formatted to standard with no issues. I'm on firmware 1.10.
