I have a DIR-655 in N-only mode, a DAP-1522 in bridge mode one room away, and a DWA-160 on a laptop downstairs. Everything connects well, but the DWA is at 108 Mbs and the DAP is at 54 Mbs using 2.4 GHz. Is there a way to force the DIR to use the 5 GHz band?

No, because the DIR-655 is a 2.4Ghz-only device.

If the DAP is only running at 54, lock the routers encryption to WPA2/AES and N only and see if that helps.

I think he means locking the dap to 5ghz

the 655 doesn't have 5ghz.
My instructuions were on how to get a faster then 54Mbps.
