Title: Configure MediaTomb
Post by: boomshanker on March 06, 2009, 01:13:20 PM
I've installed ffp 0.5 on my DNS 323 and would like to use MediaTomb as an alternate UPnP media server to the one which the DNS 323 contains already.  I am brand new to Linux.

On my DNS 323, I have created a Windows folder called Music.  Using the web interface, I have enabled the built in UPnP media server and pointed the shared directory to Volume_1\Music.  This works fine.

What I would like to do is have MediaTomb serve Volume_1\Music as well, but I do not know how to access this folder from the Linux shell, nor do I understand how I would configure MediaTomb to actually serve the folder in the same manner that the DNS 323's built in media server does.

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
TIA.

Well, for starters, you're not going to find much in the way of support here (and perhaps even a locked thread!) for hacking and running unsupported software on your DNS-323.

You need to go here:  http://forum.dsmg600.info/index.php

Thanks!  I have posted there as well.  Thought I'd try my luck here too.
