Title: Limit disk space for Mac Time Machine
Post by: vulpesiratus on January 24, 2012, 07:23:46 AM
I use the time machine function of the DNS-320. But can I limit the disk space for Time Machine on the DNS-320? Now I have the problem that time machine makes backups until there is free space on my disks.

Management -> account managment -> quotas.

i have a separate user account (which gets the 125 GB quota) and network share set up for each of my mac laptops.  however, i havent bumped into the qutoa yet to confirm it actually works :)

I tried also to use a separate user account with a limited quota which I use to access to Time machine on my Macbook. But if I check the available disk space in the Time machine dialog on my Macbook I see the whole disk space as available. Do you see only 125 GB as available in this dialog?

Has someone more experience on how to limit the disk space on the DNS-320 for Time Machine backups?

Is there really no possibility to assign a limited disk space capacity for Time Machine backups?
