Title: Guest zone features requested
Post by: foo on March 09, 2009, 11:09:44 AM
Hi,

DIR-825 working great here, but I want the following features related to Guest Zone:

1. QoS or throttling of guests.  I want to be able to lower the priority of traffic on the Guest network, or somehow limit the damage the Guest network can do.  Right now it looks like they can consume 100% of the bandwidth.  That would be fine as long as all other traffic is prioritized higher.  Alternatively, if there was a way to limit throughput of the Guest network, that would be OK too.

2. Guest network user account authentication.  It would be nice to allow the Guest network to be "open" (no password) but to force users to create an account (e.g. with a verified email address).  That way I don't have to hand out the password for the guest network, people can just sign up, but they're trackable and their account could be disabled.

I've requested that those very same features be added to ALL guest zone enabled routers.
