Title: Web Site Logging
Post by: dswh on January 29, 2012, 03:49:51 PM
Desperately seeking log of web history

DIR655
Firmware.1.33NA
Current Firmware Date : 2010/01/19
IE9

So far have:
Schedule set up
Access control set up, by MAC address (to log web access)
Securespot is “unenabled”

However:
Log only provides system history. No web site history.
Before I update firmware?

“fix” ideas welcome please.

Thanks!

Make sure you have DNS Relay enabled.

Thanks Dave

Yes, DNS is enabled.

Unfortunately I only see the technical updates in the log, not the web sites accessed.

Any ideas on how to view websites in the log welcome!

Thanks

Hi dswh,

The Router Logs do not show the Websites being accessed at all.
No way to show.

Hi thecreator

According to the product manual (p31) web logging is a feature

http://www.dlink.ca/products/?tab=3&pid=DIR-655&rev=DIR-655

http://www.dlink.cc/tag/dir-655 (see bottom of page 1)

Anyone got it to work?

Hi dswh,

Did you set up the Router exactly like it shows in the link that you posted?

I would call D-Link Technical Support and ask them.

I would set up Reserved IP addresses on the router for the devices your wanting to log.
Then setup a schedule for the time frames your wanting the logging to occur.
The use the Access Control to apply the web logging policy your wanting occur.
